Meet The Team

BenHello. My name is Ben and I am from Pine City, Minnesota. I am going to school at Bemidji State University with a double major in Elementary Education and Physical Education. I actually met Deb for the first time when I was her daughter’s swim teacher. Since that time, Deb and I have spent many hours talking, praying, biking and lifting weights together. I enjoy exercising and spending time outdoors. I especially enjoy biking, hunting, fishing and canoeing. As a shy, more reserved type of person, I try to show Christ’s example through my actions. I look forward to the mission trip and sharing this story of Christ’s grace and forgiveness with many people as we bike down the road.

LisaHi!! I'm Deb's friend Lisa and I have known Deb most of my life.....32 years to be exact!! We grew up together, grew apart, and are now growing up together in the Lord. My wonderful husband and I are raising our three children in Montana - which is a great state to raise children!! We are a Catholic family that prays together daily. I have been a Catholic all of my life but in the last two years God gave me a push and a huge desire to learn more about my faith. This, in turn, led me closer to Him. As Mother Teresa once said, "if you convert the mother, you convert the whole family". I was also given a love for the Bible and here is one of my favorite verses from Matthew 7:12-14 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few." May you ALL enter through the narrow gate. God Bless!!

JohnMy name is John and I’m from New Ulm, Minnesota. To me, my whole life has been a journey and this mission is an extremely big part of it—helping me to face the many things I have been hiding my whole life. It has given me the setting I need to be who I really am. It has been totally open minded, free-spirited, spiritual and a learning experience to the fullest. I feel the gifts I have been given as a human here on Earth--kindness, caring, thoughtful, curious and hopeful can fully be experienced when I am with this group. By holding onto and using these characteristics every day, it has made my life much more enjoyable—leaving me with a smile on my face at the end of the day. It’s that smile that has made me realize this is all worth the while.

JamieHi! My name is Jamie and I’ve lived in Bemidji, Minnesota most of my life. I am currently in the Physical Therapy Program at St. Catherine’s College. God pulled me from the fire and I have now been called by Him to pull others out of the fire. Last summer, I was called to do a mission trip to China. It was an incredible experience and such an honor to bring the message of Jesus Christ to so many people who had never heard it before. I really enjoy hanging out with my friends, playing rugby, boxing and weight lifting. Good luck in your journey of faith. I pray that you will experience and know all the love that Jesus Christ has for you.

JamieHello all. My name is Jamie and here’s a glimpse of me. I grew up in a small farming community in southern Minnesota where I had the “privilege’ of milking cows. Early on, I learned that hard work and earned respect are two important values in life that I hold dear to this day. After my high school days, I ended up in Bemidji, Minnesota in hopes of obtaining a degree in clinical laboratory science and biology. Through the ups and downs of this rollercoaster ride called college, Deb found me. Since our meeting in May of 2005, my life has forever been changed because her inspiration is one of a kind. Deb is full of unconditional love and hopefully one day I will be able to love as she does through the words of God.

My favorite scripture passage is Jeremiah 29: 11-15.

PJP.J. was born and raised in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio on September 11th. He comes from a big family including two brothers and two sisters. He was raised a Catholic and continues to follow the Catholic Faith. P.J. currently resides in Bluefield, West Virginia where he works as the Sports Director/Anchor for WVVA-TV NBC 6. Prior to moving to Bluefield, P.J. lived and worked in Bemidji, MN as the Sports Director/Anchor for KAWE-TV. P.J.'s hobbies include sports of all kinds. When he is not working, he can be found watching sports, playing golf, or spending time with his family. P.J.'s heart is the size of Texas and would do anything he could to make sure you were happy. May God Bless each and everyone of you and may you find happiness in God's love!

"inspiring, a must read for anyone looking for hope!"

"I admire Deb for sharing her story in From Under a Dark Cloud. She has opened her heart to God and given him the darkness that she's been carrying for so many years. What I found unique and compelling about this book are the questions at the end of each chapter. They bring you to think about your own life and the choices that you make.²
